Join us for Christmas Eve Service at 5 PM. No Sunday Service on Dec. 25.
We are going to Generate Camp again, but this time in a new location - Black Mountain, NC! Generate camp is run by YM360. Their focus is creating experiences where the name of Jesus is lifted up, where the Gospel is proclaimed through the preaching and studying of the Word, and where not only are students encouraged to take the next step in their faith journey, but the challenge and opportunity to be a person of global impact is clear. These experiences happen in times of personal devotion, in small group times of reading, listening, and responding, in group building and serving, in times of corporate worship, and in strategic times together as Sojourn Youth.

"In the end, a camp can't really change a life, but a real experience with God can. We don't want to simply create moments. We want to partner with you and be a part of moments that matter through the work of God." -YM360

Camp Speaker

Rechab Gray
Rechab brings great energy and authenticity to his preaching style, wanting everyone to know the joy of our Lord through embracing Jesus Christ. He believes that the redemptive story of Christ's love is the truth that will change the world to the Glory of God!

Rechab is the pastor of preaching and spiritual formation at New Creation Fellowship in Orlando, a brand-new church plant in the downtown area. He has been married to Brittany since 2009, and they have four children.

Music

The Museum
Born out of the local church with a heart for leading the next generation, The Museum was created. Originally from Albuquerque, NM, The Museum seeks to unify the Church as a whole and loves to lead in events and gathering where this takes place.
What to expect:
  • We will have daily gatherings of corporate worship and teaching with all the other churches that are in attendance
  • We will have daily times of personal devotion and reflection times
  • We will have daily bible studies with just Sojourn Youth, led by Brian Matthew
  • There are organized activities such as dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, craft times, etc.
  • We will have free time to rest, hang out with Sojourn Youth, and just play
We believe that this is going to be an amazing week, and we ask that you pray with us, that the Lord will use it to deeply impact the lives of our students.

Registration

Only the deposit is required at this time, but you are welcome to pay the full amount. We do plan to have a couple of fundraisers in the spring, so please listen out for more info on those. Fundraisers

Fundraiser info will be listed here once it has been finalized
Fundraiser #1: Car Wash - April 12th. Overlapping with Sojourn Church's Spring Fling. We'll wash cars, take donations, and have fun. All proceeds will be equally distributed to all students who participate.

Fundraiser #2: Volunteer-a-thon - TBD

Fundraiser #3: Freshway Grocery Bagging - July 25th. We're going to have 2 crews (11am-2pm and 2pm-5pm) and will be bagging groceries at Freshway Groceries in Byron. Any donations made will be split up amongst any student that attends. (I realize this is after the camp date, but I anticipate each student making about $30 each. If your student plans on coming to this fundraiser, you can leave your balance at $30 when we leave for camp)

Transportation

Transportation info including estimated departure and arrival times will be listed here once it has been finalized.

Sleeping Arrangements

The rooming arrangements will be described here once they have been communicated by the camp.

Packing List

Packing List will be updated as needed if the camp communicates specific items to bring, but this is generally what will be needed:
  • Bible
  • Modest clothing for 5 days, including athletic clothing
  • Dark colored shirt for Water Day at CONNECT Recreation
  • Tennis shoes
  • Pillow and bed linens for twin-sized beds
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Any toiletries and medication
  • Spending money for traveling meals, and snacks/souvenirs while at camp
  • Sunscreen
  • Alarm clock and personal fan (optional)

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones will be allowed for the drive to and from camp, but they will be collected and stored while at camp. Some students initially have issues with this policy, but after being at camp, every student has appreciated the break from their phones. We collect phones at camp so that students can limit distractions and have relational time to connect with other students.

Videos

While no two camp experiences are the same, here's a video of what we did last year and a video from YM360 about their "why" behind everything they plan at Generate Camps.
